Localservices.tech is a fair, transparent local-services directory. Rankings come from honest reviews, competition is local, and every category and city crowns its own annual Champion. Here's exactly how it fits together.

Find providers near you — filter by country, state, city, or service category.
- Every listing is tied to a real place (country, state, city) and a category like Plumbing, Cleaning, Gigs, or Talent.
- Browse the full directory or jump straight to a city or category page.
- Listings are sorted by honest ranking signals, not by who paid the most.

Honest, owner-protected reviews
Real customers rate providers 1–5 with a written review. Owners can reply but can never edit, hide, or delete a review.
- Only signed-in users who are not the listing owner can leave a review.
- Owners get a single reply field per review — that's it. They can't change the rating or the body.
- Admins can moderate abuse, but ratings are otherwise untouched by the business being reviewed.

Area-specific rankings
A provider in Sacramento competes with other Sacramento providers — not someone across the country.
- Rankings are computed per country, per state, and per city, so local competition is fair.
- You can also view the national leaderboard to compare top providers across the whole country.
- Ranking is driven by average rating, then by review volume — never by ad spend.

- Each profile shows aggregate rating, review count, location, and links to every active listing.

Every day we record the current #1 — overall, in every category, and in every city.
- An automated daily snapshot stores the top-ranked provider in three buckets: overall national, per category, and per city.
- Over the trailing 365 days, whoever spent the most days at #1 in a bucket is the current Champion.
- Categories include service trades, Gigs, and Talent — each crowns its own annual winner.

Top-Ranked Business of the Year
Every category and every city awards a yearly Champion — the provider with the most days at #1.
- Win the overall national title, your category title, or your city title.
- Champions get the Champion badge on their profile and a homepage feature.
- The greater-area winner (e.g. Sacramento) also gets their profile picture spotlighted across the site daily for their reign.

- $5 paid bumps push a listing higher temporarily.
- Pricing may change after the promo period — Champion rewards remain.

Built on trust and transparency
No pay-to-rank. No hidden review removal. Roles, data, and rankings are protected by row-level security.
- Provider rankings are derived from public reviews only — never bought.
- Sensitive fields (like contact email) are owner-only; public profile reads go through a safe RPC.
- Admin actions are logged and gated by a separate role system.
